The Logging Raingauge is the ideal product for long term or remote recording of rainfall.  The unit consists of an internal data logger and battery, rain gauge (0.2 ml tipping bucket), solar panel and EasiAccess reporting and database software. Rainfall records logged include daily, hourly, and rainfall intensity data.  The unit has the option to add an additional sensor, giving the flexibility for those applications requiring more than just rainfall monitoring.  Choose from air temperature, soil temperature, soil moisture, relative humidity, leaf wetness or water depth to name a few.

FEATURES

There are a number of features that make Environdata's logging rain gauge one of the best compact and innovative rainfall recording systems available, including:

  • 0.2 mm resolution.
  • Stainless steel barrel.
  • Powder-coated aluminium funnel and base.
  • Capacity for one extra sensor.
  • Compatible with Environdata's full range of remote communication options, including; Telephone, GSM or CDMA data links, Radio links or Ethernet connection.
  • 29,000 readings memory with real-time clock.
  • Easy cleaning & barrel removal.
  • EasiAccess Windows software.  Included with the logging rain gauge,  EasiAccess contains weather station management functions, database and full reporting and graphing options. EasiAccess Software operates on 486 and above operating Windows 95, 98, 2000 & NT.
  • Pre-programmed with universal program -stores daily summary (memory 1), hourly sensor data (memory 2)and rainfall intensity(memory 3).
  • Software failure as a result of nearby lightning strike initiates an automatic circuit ‘watch dog' to restart the logger within 4 seconds, ensuring uninterrupted data storage.
  • 1.00 watt solar panel -  maintains battery with 1 hour's bright sunshine per day.
  • 6 volt 3.0AH internal sealed rechargeable gel cell battery -capacity for 6 weeks operation without sunlight.

OPTIONS AVAILABLE

Sensors: To meet the diverse requirements of different users, a spare channel has been included to allow the addition of one extra sensor.  Options include:

  • Temperature Sensor - air, soil, grass, water or black globe
  • Relative Humidity Sensor
  • Radiation Sensor - Solar, U.V. or P.A.R.
  • Barometric Pressure Sensor
  • Leaf Wetness Sensor
  • Soil Moisture Sensor - gypsum block, ceramic, capacitance, Aquaflex
  • Water Depth Sensor - pressure transducer
  • Specialised Sensors - ask for details

APPLICATIONS

  • Rainfall distribution & intensity.
  • Catchment monitoring.
  • Soil conservation.
  • Hydrology.

SUMMARY

The RG20 is a compact, robust, automatic rain gauge. It consists of an inbuilt tipping bucket rain gauge sensor, windows software, data logger, rechargeable battery, and solar panel. The rain gauge automatically sends its information to the data logger, which processes and stores the data in its memory. The data is then available for collection by personal computer either onsite or remotely via telemetry.

The rain gauge sensor is factory calibrated so that each system is ready for use immediately. It can be used for an extended period without any need for adjustment. There are no electrical connections to be made, no mechanical assembly -just mount the unit on a suitable base and switch it on. Thanks to its compact and innovative design, the Environdata Logging Rain Gauge is easy to carry to site, easy to set up, and easy to operate immediately.

The unit's memory provides up to 29,000 readings, facilitating high-intensity data collection,or long intervals between data collection. Data is stored in 3 independent secure areas with battery backup. Usually, daily summaries are stored in Memory Area 1, hourly data in Area 2, and rainfall intensity data in Area 3.  If the system's software should fail, perhaps as a result of a nearby lightning strike, an automatic circuit ("watch-dog") will restart the logger within a minute, ensuring that data storage is uninterrupted. The internal, real-time clock ensures that the correct date and time are always stored with the data.
