14-Jul-2008 All new Environdata rain gauges now use an electronic detector (Hall
Effect Device) to detect the bucket mechanism tipping, instead of a
(Mechanical) Reed switch contact.
These new detectors are more robust, more reliable and have an indefinite life.
This is applicable to Mk 4 systems (RG12 rain gauge), RG20 logging rain gauges and WeatherMaster 2000 systems.
Earlier
versions of all products can also be upgraded upon request. RG12 rain
gauges can still be supplied with a Reed contact, if specifically
requested.
