Specialised Sensors
Environdata can supply custom sensors that interface to our data loggers. Should you have a specific instrument that is required in addition to your weather monitoring sensors, please contact us and we will be happy to advise a solution.
Examples of speciality sensors
Black Globe Sensor - The Black Globe instrument is a simple instrument used for monitoring the temperature effect of global radiation on an exposed surface. The sensor consists of a temperature sensor mounted inside a copper globe with a matte black surface exterior. It is widely used in the feedlot industry to mimic the effect of radiation on the comfort of cattle. It also can be used for comfort measurements in other animals and in humans.
Net Radiometer/Pyradiometer - For accurate scientific measurement of the net total radiation flux (solar/terrestrial and atmospheric) downward and upward through a horizontal surface, this advanced instrument provides the solution for detailed solar energy studies.
Depth Sensor - Environdata offers a range of depth sensors including ultrasonic depth for use in monitoring river levels, along with bore depth and tank level sensors.
Photosynthetically Active Radiation Sensor (PAR) - This instrument is used for agricultural and horticultural purposes to measure the levels of radiation in the 400 - 700 nM spectrum, which is useful for plant tissue production.
Thermocouple Temperature Sensor - the thermocouple temperature sensor consists of two wires of differing alloys which at the joining point create a small voltage when heated. The fine size of the sensor allows for rapid detection of temperature changes along with a sensor point suitable for very small locations and surfaces of items being measured.
